Miles Family Reunion 2008

We had a wonderful little vacation starting on March 15th and we got home on Easter Sunday. It was so much fun to be together for so long with no work-only fun things to do. We went to Cedar City first. Kents brother Dan and his wife Jen and their kids were here from Alaska, so we were able to visit with them for a few days before they went home. The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins. We were in charge of the Miles family reunion this year. We held it at Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. It is between Mesquite and Las Vegas. I can't believe that we lived in Vegas for 7 years and never went there. It was a beautiful time of year to be there. We LOVED the warm weather. It was beautiful weather to camp in. We had a great reunion, and I think everyone had a good time. We did some fun things, and also had time to hang out and visit.

The kids had a blast climbing on all of the rocks. They just played and played all day long. They love being able to just run free.

We had some fun games

A pinata that Grandma and Grandpa filled with SOOO many fun kid toys

A kids had a treasure hunt that Uncle Scott made up ( the squirt guns were the treasure)

Of course Foo Foo had to come along. Morgan drug her thorough the dirt, threw her on the ground, and who knows what else. It was filthy, but she continued to enjoy having it in her mouth.

We did a really fun photo scavenger hunt too. I will post pictures from that later.

We had a great time with the Miles family. What a nice time of year to go somewhere warm, too!

Easter

We had two Easter egg hunts on our trip. We had one at Grandma and Grandpa Miles house with Dan and Jen's kids and Carson, and then another at The Robison's house. Can you say candy overload? The kids LOVED it.

After they found their eggs, Jessica had them all look for an empty egg. After it was found, she did a little lesson about the resurrection, and compared the empty egg to the empty tomb. I thought it was a neat idea. She said she had read about in the Ensign.

Cousins

What in the world would kids do without cousins? Our kids love ALL of their cousins. When we got home McCray was crying in his bed because he missed being with his cousins. I remember feeling the same way when I was a kid.

Dreaming of Summers Past

1. Isn't this the prettiest picture? I love it! It is of Kent and the kids . It reminds me of last summer. We went on an exotic family vacation.... to Logan. It was actually a great trip , and it was so beautiful . My sister Erin and my brother Taylor (the oldest and youngest) got married within a week of each other last June. During the week between the weddings, we all were able to hang out together and do fun things around the Logan area. It was so much fun. I got these pictures from my sister in law this week. Even though they are WAY old news, I wanted to share them with you all. I am really looking forward to summer. And for the first time in years, we are not living in the desert. We may actually be able to go outside and enjoy it.

2. This is at my older sister Erin and her husband Kelly's wedding. This is all of my brothers and sisters and my parents. I am the second oldest, if you can't tell. :)

3. Aren't these kids cute, if I do say so myself? I love this picture with our kids.

4. This is McCray with his first fish. He doesn't look like it, but he was THRILLED!

5. And this is how I spent my vacation. Holding this spoiled little girl. This vacation was at the very worst of Morgan's horrible clingy stage. She didn't let anyone hold her except for me. By the end of the trip, I was worn out. Thankfully 9 months later, she is way past this. Now she is extremely independent. I don't know if that is better or worse than clingy.

Putting out Fires

I've been struggling to get a post done. I have been busy, but also at a loss for cute pictures to share, or wonderful things going on. I feel like I have been just putting out fires and doing whatever has to be done most in that very moment. My kids have been wearing short sleeved shirts and Camille even wore capri's to school twice last week. Not because it is time for them yet, but because she has no clean pants. I can't seem to get on top of it. I just do enough to get by until the next laundry/cleaning crisis. I usually ALWAYS fold my laundry right away, and last week I had four loads in line, waiting to be folded. I finally got them all folded and put away, only to find laundry spilling out of the hamper needing to be washed. I think laundry is not my friend.

I promise to find something more exciting to post soon. Between now and then I will be praying that no one unexpected comes to my door. :)
