We had our ward Christmas party this morning. It was really fun. Santa made his appearance, and the kids were so excited. They have been thinking about what they were going to ask for for the past week. They got to sit on Santa's lap, and they all did pretty well. I was shocked that Morgan even sat there, without screaming. She wouldn't look at him. She just leaned her head back and snuggled with him. I finally had to say, "alright Foofoo, lets let the other kids have a turn." I thought there would be no way that she would sit there. She wouldn't smile, but that was ok. Santa gave out nice little gifts. He gave puzzles for the girls, little flying disc guns for the boys, and teddy bears for the babies. Reed was hilarious. All week long he has been saying that he was going to ask for a bow and arrow. So he got up on Santa's lap and told him he wanted a bow and arrow. At the end of his turn, Santa handed him a teddy bear. He promptly proceeded to throw it on the ground with a big frown. Then he gave him a disc gun, and he still wasn't very happy. He wanted a bow and arrow. I was dying of embarrassment. I couldn't believe that he did that. I asked him later why he did that, and he said, "I am NOT a baby, I am a kid. I already have a teddy bear." It cracked me up. I guess we need to have the be grateful for what you get talk. It was a fun morning. It has been snowing since last night, so it was beautiful when we left to go. I guess I know what I need to do today.... go looking for a bow and arrow.

Cute pictures!!! I love your Santa, he actually looks REAL. Ours was obviously a Santa's helper! Good luck with finding a bow and arrow. Andrew had a nerf one when he was little, but I don't know if they still them. We are FINALLY getting snow in Cedar this afternoon. I am excited. I hope we get as much as you have in Salt Lake.
They are definately nice! I love Reed's reaction... I can understand your embarrassment, but he had just barely asked for a bow and arrow and he got a teddy bear! That would be a hard one to understand. At our ward party they just give out treats. I now think that is a great idea!
Melissa's boys have bows and arrows that totally look real. So real in fact, that our five boys were outside playing and I noticed a Police Officer had come to talk to them. We went outside to see who was throwing rocks at the cars and he said that concerned citizens had called 911 and said that kids were playing with bows and arrows... They laughed when the got there and checked them out. I know they got them at a Boy Scout Jamboree or Pow Wow or something like that, but maybe they're available some place else too.
I love your santa pics, I hope to get pics with my twins this year even if they don't know, I have waited a long time for this.
Maria- didn't anyone tell Reed that you get to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what you want for CHRISTMAS (that is Dec. 25th) not for right at that moment! The elves still have to make the toy requested sometimes!
That was a GREAT story and one that will be soooo funny to tell for years to come!
