We Also Sing Concert and Temple Square

Carter, Uli, Camille and I went to a concert on temple square the night before they left. I had got some tickets for this choir concert that Marilee Webb in my ward was directing. Many of the sisters in our ward sang in it as well. I had tickets for everyone to go. But SILLY ME, I did not realize that I got the tickets at the same time as the BYU / UTAH football game. When we realized that we had this conflict, I was pretty sad, because I had been looking forward to going to this for a long time. BUT, I also realized that scheduling a choir concert during that game, and expecting your husband who has been looking forward to this game all year to go with you was not fair. Choir concert vs. the "Holy War" football game. Hmm, which one would you choose? I was still going to go, but gratefully, Carter offered to go with me. I was so happy. So Carter, Uli, Camille, and I went. I think we all had a really nice time. It was kind of fun to just have the older kids. The concert was great. It is a choir made up of 400 normal people who love to sing, but may not be considered "singers". The director is wonderful, and made this group of 400 women fantastic. I want SO BADLY to be in this choir next year.

I like these pictures. They make me think of the picture of Uli with baby Camille from not so long ago. The older an handsome big cousin with the taller and cute little cousin.

After the concert, we walked around temple square and had fun taking pictures with the Christmas lights. It was really beautiful, and thankfully, it was not too cold.

Isn't this a great picture of Carter and Uli? Cater put Uli up on his shoulders, and I had the thought that he won't be able to do that for too much longer. Uli is growing us really fast. He is a great kid, and the kids love to have him come. He has a great Dad too.

I really love this picture of Camille and I. I think it is a cute picture of us, but I love that the temple is behind us. How grateful I am for the temple, which allows me to be with my family forever.

Halloween 2009

We had a really enjoyable Halloween this year. We had the Johnston's over for Halloween dinner, and then we went to Trunk or Treat over at the church. I like Trunk or Treat. Fast and easy, and then you are done. Bah-humbug huh? I DON'T like going to door. Car to car is a little better. I guess.....

We had our traditional Halloween dinner. That is the funnest part of Halloween to me. It was pretty much the same old Halloween stuff that I make every year. Mummy hotdogs, deviled eggs with a spider on top, a veggie tray, and Steph brought yummy chili. I did venture out and copied Krista's idea to make bread stick bones. They were fun, easy to make, and were yummy. It was a good night.

How do you get rid of a gopher?

We had a gopher that was taunting us for over a month. We bought a trap, but it just dug another hole next to the one with the trap in it. We were very frustrated! A friend from our ward asked if he could help us with our problem. He brought his boys over, and they took care of business. Let's just say that there is no O2 sensor on this dual exhaust truck. I thought the fumes were going to kill ME! After 20 minutes of pumping exhaust into the hole, the job was done. AND, we have not seen our little friend since. I think that I get way too much satisfaction knowing that it is no longer with us. I am cruel, very cruel. MwaaaHaHaaa!!! Good ridence!

Girls Night Out

We had a Girls Night Out with Stephanie, Bentley, and Paula the week before Halloween. We went to Gardner Village, and had such a fun time. They decorate it with witches, and have it looking so fun and festive. We went on a tractor ride, and got to see a "real" witches house. It was really cute, and the girls loved it. Morgan was a "puffy princess" with her coat under her princess dress. She didn't love that costume. It was too long and scratchy for her tastes. She weeded it out before we got to the big night, and decided to be a clown instead.

While we had girls night out, Stephanie's husband Ryan took Reed and McCray for boys night. That was so nice. Kent had to work, and met up with them later when he got off. He took them and got pizza, went bowling, and then they went to Nickel Mania. They had a ball. It was funny, they stayed out much later than the girls. They bought A LOT of nickels to play, and it took a awhile to use them all up. Poor things!

I am grateful for good friends. It sure makes life more fun! Thanks guys!
