Camilles Hero Performance

Camille's 4th grade did a performance about Heroes. It was very good, and I enjoyed watching her perform. She was singing out and having a great time.

Her best friend Susanna came to watch the performance with us. They are both cute girls. I am glad that they have stayed friends, even after we moved.

Sophie

We are so happy to have Sophie coming to be our cousin-sister. She is such a cutie, and so pleasant. When you are going to be the youngest of 6 kids at this place, Maria is sure grateful that you are so mellow!

Aren't they both so pretty. Sophie is lucky to get to look like her Mom!

Ogden Train Museum

We went to the Ogden Train Museum again this year for Jossue's birthday. This year Grandma and Grandpa Miles were visiting, as well as uncle Scott. So they came along with us.

Most of the actual museum exhibits can be a little boring, but the kids love the interactive exhibits.

Reed was trying out some Morse Code.

I can't believe that Jossue is 5. I started watching him when he was 18 months old. Time flies.

This is the old train station in Ogden where they have the museum. It is a pretty neat old building.

We rode the Front Runner train to Ogden and back, and that is always fun for the kids. The cars have 2 levels, so of course they chose to sit on top. It was fun to have Grandma, Grandpa and Scott come on our adventure with us.

Miles Easter 2011

We were home for Easter this year, so we had a little Easter Egg hunt in our backyard. It was fun that we could have family here to share in the fun too! Erin brought Oscar and Sophie, and Grandma and Grandpa Miles and Scott were here too. It is always more fun when you can share the fun with others.

Oscar was a PRO. He got the hang of it really fast. He would pick up his eggs, and we would dump them out, and he would start over again.

We are so glad that Erin Kelly and their kids are here. The kids love having cousins nearby. It is just not as much fun without cousins.

Reeds Missing Teeth

Reed finally lost a tooth. He was so happy. He lost both of them right about the same time. It was just before he turned 7. He must have the Payne genes for losing teeth. He likes to hold on to them longer than most! He actually couldn't wait to lose them so that he could use the tooth fairy pillow, and collect some cash. He is anxious to lose more so he can get more $$$. Losing teeth isn't a quick way to save up for something you want!

Campout With Uncle Scott

Uncle Scott came for a visit, and let the kids have a camp out with him. They slept under the stars, and were so excited!

They got all of their gear ready, got all tucked in, and ready for a sleepover. Mom and Dad made sure to keep the back door unlocked.

About 2 minutes later, Morgan came in and was done with the sleepover. A few minutes later, Camille was inside as well. She couldn't sleep. The boys and Uncle Scott however, made it through the night. I was not surprised.

Fun Preschool

We did a really fun preschool for St Patrick's Day. We read a book about what makes a rainbow, and then we talked about the colors in the rainbow.

We used food coloring and mixed colors to make the colors of the rainbow.

Then the girls made leprechauns.

I think they turned out pretty well.

St Patrick's Day

We had a fun St Patrick's day this year. We did skip making our traditional green eggs and ham, as well as our corned beef and cabbage. Other than missing out on the good food that comes with St Patrick's, it was business as usual.

Morgan and Calea did another St Patrick's art project.

Erin had Oscar all decked out, so that no one would pinch him.

The kids all got in on the action and wore their green, just to be safe.

Hollywood Connection

Over spring break this year, we actually went and did something FUN. I got a great deal on tickets, and took the kids to a place called Hollywood connections. It is an indoor place that has rides, games, skating, and mini golf. We went with Susanna's family, and the kids had a great time.

There were bumper cars, that we all enjoyed. I especially had fun. I don't know if I have ever done those before, but it is a good way to get out your pent up frustrations!

Camille always enjoys her time with Susanna.

Morgan wasn't too sure about the rides. I finally convinced her to ride the Merry Go Round. She wouldn't get on the horses, but she was ok to sit in the chair. She must be her mama's girl. I am not especially brave about rides.

Reed went on the crazy spinning thing with Susanna's mom Dawn. Just watching them turn around made me feel sick.

Mini golf was a big hit. I was glad that no one was keeping score, because we all have a LONG way to go to be golfers. But it was really fun. There were balls going everywhere!

I think the ride the kids ended up enjoying the most, was the dragon roller-coaster. They rode it over and over and over! McCray didn't want anything to do with any ride, but I finally got him to try it with me. He ended up loving it. I was so glad, because he usually won't try it if it looks scary to him.

It was a fun way to spend a spring break day. I enjoyed playing with the kids. I usually have to watch them have fun. This time I got to do everything with them. We even tried roller skating. I am not the skating queen that I used to be back in the days of Cheapskate and Crown Skating Rink. :) But there was no major damage, so it was a success.

Coloring Easter Eggs

The kids had a special treat this, and were able to have Grandma Miles color eggs with them. They were pretty creative, and came up with some good decorated eggs.

Aren't those flowers beautiful? One of my favorite things about Spring are the flowers.
Whoever lived here before us was sure kind to plant so many spring flowers. I love them. This year I decided to cut some for the inside too, so that we could enjoy them both outside, and in.

Catching Up...Again

I am posting a bunch of catch up posts again. Lots of times I get the pictures uploaded, but then it takes me too long to get the post ready. So here are some old posts. Hopefully I can get caught up so I can get to something current someday!
