Fishing

Another busy bag that I made is a magnetic fishing game.  The boys had fun catching their fish.

I figured that a laundry basket is almost as good as a boat, right?

The Fort

Morgan and Oscar wanted to make a fort.  So we got the stuff out and did it.

Sophie had a ball in there with the kids.  Morgan thinks that Sophie is hers.  She thinks that she can do everything that I do, and that she is a little mom.  She changes her diapers, feeds her, You name it.  She does a great job too.  I guess all of that practice with her dolls is paying off.

Oscar taking a break from all of the fun.

It is so fun to hear happy kids playing.  Putting the mess away after its over is a different story.

Trying To Keep Them Busy

The kids really like to be "doing" something.  Especially Morgan.  She needs school soo bad, because I can't keep up with her!  Last fall I made some busy bags.  The idea is that you have lots of different activities/games etc. in a bad with everything you need, all ready to go.  She when you need something for them to do, it is ready to go.

These are just bottles that you fill up with beads, pebbles, etc.  Not too complicated, but they enjoy it.

We also have done play dough.

Oscar and Myles like to be "super" and wear their capes while they play.  They really get along well, which makes it fun for Oscar while Morgan is gone to preschool.  Oscar is starting to get a little social life with all of his different friends.

Sophie hangs out and keeps everyone in line.  She is sure a happy girl.  When she is getting what she wants...

We Start Them Young Around Here

Oscar is not exempt from doing chores.  He's just one of the kids.  He actually gets a lot of satisfaction helping out with jobs.  And he does a good job.

He also pushes in the chairs every morning after breakfast.  When he is done he gets his vitamin.  I don't know why vitamins are such a motivator around here, but they are.

Murder Mystery Party

Kent and I were invited to a murder mystery dinner party at Kent's cousin Debbie and her husband Eric's house.  This is the second one that we have been to, and we always have a good time.  The theme for this one was 1985 class reunion.  Hence the rocker dress.  I think it is really fun, because Kent and I aren't exactly people who dress up just because.  But in these cases, what choice do we have???

Don't you love the mullet?  For some reason, it looks so natural on him!

They had a wall of pictures of the different characters.  Most of the people had their senior picture, and they had photo shopped an eighties hairdo onto it. However, there were 2 people who had hair bad enough that they could use their original senior pictures, and didn't have to do a thing.......

Unfortunately I was one of the two!  The pictures of everyone were pretty hilarious.

Not sure why, but they always have me be the flirty person.  It is so unnatural for me!  Somehow I managed though.

Mohawk Man

Reed went to a friends house and his older brother fixed Reed's hair for him.  He thought he was pretty cool.  I guess if that is as wild as it gets, I am ok with that.

Oscar & Myles

For St Patrick's Day, Oscar and his friend Myles did a little St Patrick's Day craft.  They stuck torn up pieces of tissue paper on contact paper.  Then we folded it in half, and cut a shamrock out of it.  Oscar was very serious about his project.  I was surprised at how long he was able to work on it and not get bored.  It is fun now that he is a little older and able to do more "projects."

Sophie

Sophie has been so cute lately.  We took her out to play on the slide the other day.  She thinks she is such a big girl.  She loved it, and was pretty mad when it was time to go inside.  I think she must have decided that if I wasn't going to help her, she was going to get up there herself.

She had these cute pigtails in, and reminded me so much of Beth and her cute pig tails.  We have some spunky little "Payne" girls.

Feeling The Love

How lucky I am to have my four little "big" babies.  It won't be too long until it is totally impossible
to have them all snuggle me at one time.

As it is, it only lasted for about 5 minutes.  Then I had to get down to business and take my REAL nap.  I sure love these kids!

The Harvest 2011

We have 2 dwarf peach trees in our front yard.  This was the second year we have had them.  They are tiny trees, but this year, this little tree had 18 beautiful peaches on it, after I thinned it.  And they were sooo good.  They ripened much sooner than our two peach trees in the back did.

I think the trees are so cute.  When they are blooming, the blossoms are bright pink, and look really pretty.

Look at how pretty that is.  They taste good too!
