Annual Halloween Party

We have had a "spooky food" Halloween dinner for years. I just love it. Last night was the big night and we had a great time. We had about 14 adults and a bunch of kids come, and it was a ball. Or kids asked if any kids their age were coming. No, poor things! It was a party of moms friends! They all are young and have little kids Oscar and Sophies age. The kids were just fine and we had a great night. Even Kent and I dressed up- that is a miracle!!!

Halloween Preschool

We had fun at preschool today. If we could only do craft activities all day long......

Note to self

Do not put ketchup on Sophies plate with her lunch. She will use it as lotion and rub out all over her skin. She also rubs it in her armpits. Silly girl.

Miles Family Reunion 2012

We had the Miles reunion at the cabin this year over labor day weekend. We All had a wonderful time. Anytime you get to be with cousins, it's a good time. We had a cousin carnival that the kids loved. We'll have to remember the idea for the next Payne reunion. Grandma and grandpa bought a 4-Wheeler, and we all had fun getting rides on it. That was my first time ever riding one. It's was great. I need to get out more.

Done for now....

McCray had his last baseball game for his fall ball teams. They have played 4 games a week for the past 6 Weeks. It has been busy but enjoyable. Reed also finished his flag football season last week. So, we are free until basketball starts the end of November. I have to admit that I am so excited to have a little time with no games. There is so much that needs to be done around here, we won't have to worry at all about what to do with the spare time. :-)

Playing outside

The kids love playing outside in the driveway. They ride bikes and scooters and have loss of fun. Oscar always asks me to text Spencer and ask if he can play. A social life at such a young age...

Chalked

The young women in our ward came and chalked our driveway to welcome Camille in to young womens. It made her feel good. Hard to believe she is 12 already. I am excited for her. I realize how grateful I am as a mother to have awesome young women leaders who care about your daughter and want to help her through her teenage years. What a blessing! Teenagers need all the love they can get I think.

Happy Birthday Morgan

Our little Morgan isn't so little. She turned 6! She wanted a castle cake, and she got one. We went all out and went pink candy crazy. She was happy about it. No one ate much cake- it was almost gross sweet. We sure love Morgan and are so glad she's in or family.

Picking plums at Grandma Thompsons

One morning the kids and I went to Grandma Thompson's house and picked plums. It was fun, and Oscar enjoyed showing me around the backyard. They ate the plums up like crazy- I was hoping that they wouldn't get sick. We miss Shirley, and it was nice to get to enjoy being in her yard.

Getting Bigger

One of the things I have loved about having a youngest child, is that we have been able to take naps together. She will say she doesn't want a nap, but if I can get her to snuggle with me she usually falls right to sleep.

Today Morgan said to me, "mom you must be getting bigger because I am squished."Unfortunately there's some truth in that. I sure do love my little Morgie. It is crazy when your babies grow up so fast. I guess that must be what mom and dad feel like having 2 daughters in their forties. Yikes!
