Hollywood Connection

Over spring break this year, we actually went and did something FUN. I got a great deal on tickets, and took the kids to a place called Hollywood connections. It is an indoor place that has rides, games, skating, and mini golf. We went with Susanna's family, and the kids had a great time.

There were bumper cars, that we all enjoyed. I especially had fun. I don't know if I have ever done those before, but it is a good way to get out your pent up frustrations!

Camille always enjoys her time with Susanna.

Morgan wasn't too sure about the rides. I finally convinced her to ride the Merry Go Round. She wouldn't get on the horses, but she was ok to sit in the chair. She must be her mama's girl. I am not especially brave about rides.

Reed went on the crazy spinning thing with Susanna's mom Dawn. Just watching them turn around made me feel sick.

Mini golf was a big hit. I was glad that no one was keeping score, because we all have a LONG way to go to be golfers. But it was really fun. There were balls going everywhere!

I think the ride the kids ended up enjoying the most, was the dragon roller-coaster. They rode it over and over and over! McCray didn't want anything to do with any ride, but I finally got him to try it with me. He ended up loving it. I was so glad, because he usually won't try it if it looks scary to him.

It was a fun way to spend a spring break day. I enjoyed playing with the kids. I usually have to watch them have fun. This time I got to do everything with them. We even tried roller skating. I am not the skating queen that I used to be back in the days of Cheapskate and Crown Skating Rink. :) But there was no major damage, so it was a success.

Coloring Easter Eggs

The kids had a special treat this, and were able to have Grandma Miles color eggs with them. They were pretty creative, and came up with some good decorated eggs.

Aren't those flowers beautiful? One of my favorite things about Spring are the flowers.
Whoever lived here before us was sure kind to plant so many spring flowers. I love them. This year I decided to cut some for the inside too, so that we could enjoy them both outside, and in.

Catching Up...Again

I am posting a bunch of catch up posts again. Lots of times I get the pictures uploaded, but then it takes me too long to get the post ready. So here are some old posts. Hopefully I can get caught up so I can get to something current someday!

Food For Thought

I think that this is a message for ME. I feel like my life is spinning out of control some days, and I am just too busy doing all sorts of STUFF. I am not sure how to change it, but I need to. It is that battle of good, better, and best. The things I do are all good, but are there things that are better or best that I could be doing? I think watching Oscar and Sophie will help, because you HAVE to slow down with little ones. That will be good. Watch this video and see what you think. I think we can all learn from this.

McCray and Reed's Baseball

This is what we have been doing for the past few months- BASEBALL. One of the Grandpa's on the team takes these pictures, and they are amazing. Here are a few of the boys.

Their team was the Mets

McCray sliding into some base.

The boys at bat.

McCray was able to do some pitching this season. He did really well. It made Mom so nervous for him though. The PRESSURE!

McCray's Pectus Carinatum

I have noticed this problem for about 3 years, and every year at his well check, I would ask the Dr about it. This year she finally was ready to refer him on to do something about it. So we made an appointment at Primary Childrens Medical Center with a specialist. She also thought that we should pursue treatment, and recommended a bracing specialist from New Jersey. Gratefully he comes to Utah a few times a year, and would be coming out a few months later. There were other providers and types of braces that he could have had, but they were very big, bulky, and not as effective. Cheaper, but not better. So we decided to have him seen by Joe at Pectus Services from New Jersey.
I had to take pictures so that Joe could make a brace in New Jersey, and then bring it out with him to Salt Lake for his appointment. It is pretty amazing that from the pictures we sent, he can tell how exactly to make the brace.

Valentines Party

I had a fun Valentine's party for Morgan, and the kids in the ward her age. It was really fun, and the kids seemed to enjoy it. Sometimes I think that these parties are as much fun for me to plan, as they are for the kids. I love planning parties.

We decorated sugar cookies.

Played pin the face on Mrs. Valentine.

After those games, the kids just wanted to play with the toys, and their friends. It was fun, and got me primed for the class Valentine's party that I had to plan and throw for Reed's class. So much fun for one week.
