What have you been doing today, you ask? Nothing ( ok, that is not completely true) that I should be, but I have had fun. Camille's little friend Susanna has her 8th birthday party tonight. It is a fairy party. It is funny- Camille is into dolls, and Susanna is into fairy stuff. So what did Camille want to get her for her birthday? A doll. And what is Susanna giving Camille? Fairy wings. Camille found this doll at a garage sale for $o.25. It didn't have any clothes though. I didn't want to pay $11 for an outfit, so I went online and got some ideas, and decided to make a fairy tutu dress for the doll. I think that it turned out pretty cute ( ignore the fact that she needs something under that dress- we'll get to that later.) It was pretty easy. I guess people make these for little girls. I just adapted the idea for a doll. I definitely learned some tricks that will hopefully make it easier if I make another one. I should make one for Morgan. I think she would have fun with it. (Just a tutu- not the whole dress)
I took some fabric to work last night, and made up a pattern for this little dress. It is pretty rough, but hey, for my first time, it works. I just won't mention that I had to sew around the piping about 10 times (no kidding) to make sure it was all attached. It was fun though to try to pretend that I know what I am doing.
Now if I was only packed to go on our trip tonight.... we are going to Cedar City for the weekend. I am working until about 9 and then we will leave after I get home and finish getting ready. Today was a crazy day. I baby-sat Josue, tried to clean house, made doll clothes, kept kids happy, made PB&J sandwiches for dinner :) and went to work. Kent came home at 6 and has a baptism to conduct at 7. Whew. Busy day. But good.

I think you're a wonderful seamstress to be able to just make that dress and fairy outfit. Amazing. I like the tutu with the flower and stuff--I'm impressed.
It's me, Ilene who wrote that last one. I also am wondering if you just made the dress for fun, or is she getting both dolls, or is that Camille's doll or what? Very cute.
Wow, I am impressed with the sewing.
AWESOME see I knew you could sew, who needs a pattern.
