I have been in a blogging slump this past little while. My camera has been acting up, and the pictures I take have been blurry. VERY frustrating. So most of the pictures in the post are blurry. I will apologize now. Sorry. We haven't have a whole lot going on that is blog worthy either. Not that we haven't been busy. I feel like I am always running.
We had a super fun Halloween. The night before Halloween we carved pumpkins. This is the first year the kids each got their own, so they had fun choosing what they wanted to have carved on it. We have usually just carved one big one for all of us. I was so sick this day, as you can tell in the pictures. I look like I am half asleep.
On Halloween night, we got together with our friends and next door neighbors the Johnston's, and our friends the Holladay's and had a Halloween dinner and then they all went trick or treating together afterwards. ( I got to go to work- I wasn't too sad because I don't love Trick or Treating) I LOVE Halloween because I think it is so fun to make Halloween foods. I tried a new recipe this year. I think they turned out pretty cute! I also made my normal standbys- Mummy hot dogs, and witch hats.
We had the dinner at the Johnston's house. It was so fun. They had it all decorated so nice, and a beautiful Halloween table setting. I LOVE seeing all of the neat things that Stephanie comes up with to decorate things. She and her Mother are amazing and I always learn great ideas from them. I just wish I would implement more of them. They are entertainers, and everything always looks so nice.
These are all of the kids
In July I always have dreams of making cute costumes for the kids. Then in October, around the 30th or 31st, I panic and realize that I am not totally ready. The boys had their costumes given to them, so we knew what they were going to be. But the girls... that was a little harder.
McCray was a guy from Star Wars. Don't ask me who, I have no idea.
Reed was Batman again. Same character, different costume.
Camille was a black cat. I borrowed the ears and tail from a friend, we threw her black sweat suit on, and Viola, she was taken care of.
Morgan on the other hand, well that was a different story. McCray's kindergarten teacher had told my that she had a princess costume that she wanted to give to Morgan. That was great. She kept forgetting to give it to me. I finally got it the day before Halloween. It was a super cute costume, but way too big. So I ended up borrowing a costume from my friend Nanette. Morgan would be a bumblebee. Whew! I was relieved. So we went home and I started to get ready for the party. I was crazy busy all afternoon cooking. When it was time to go, I realized I didn't have her costume ready. She needed her black turtleneck and her black tights. I couldn't find either one. I dug through the laundry and found the turtleneck. It was really dirty. So I turned it around, and covered it with the bee suit. That worked. Then I could NOT find her tights anywhere. So, trying to be resourceful, I put Kent's socks on her, like thigh highs. They stretched the length of her leg. She did have a big heel going up the back of her leg, but oh well. I just pretended that I couldn't see that! :) So we got the stuff together, and took it next door. Then I realized that the little bumblebee costume isn't quite long enough and you can totally see the tops of the socks, and even better, her diaper. UGGH! I was trying so hard. We all had a really good laugh about it. Thankfully she trick or treated in her stroller, so no one could tell. It made for a pretty cute picture though. Hopefully she will laugh about it someday.

I LOVE the bee costume!
We laughed and laughed at the bee costume. I am sorry you were sick. Sounds like everyone had a great time other than that.
Looks like you had a great halloween! I love the bee! That is great!
We couldn't stop laughing about the bee costume. It is going to be the best picture to look back on someday for Morgan. Wedding video?? Looks like a great Halloween though, lots of fun. Taylor wants to know what size the helmet was McCray was wearing?
That is a great story about Morgan. I can picture the heels in the back of her legs as she is walking away. Most importantly, it sounds like everybody had fun. Thanks for sharing that.
