Just kidding. It is not that bad. I am at work tonight, and thought I would check in and say hello. I have no pictures, I will have to work on that for next time. We are all moved in, and have one big mess. It is slowly getting put away. We spent the day today cleaning out the old house. Kent was there a lot longer than I was, just trying to get that checked off of the list and done. It will be nice to just have to worry about cleaning up one house.
We have been working pretty hard for the past while trying to get the house ready to move in to. We re-painted the whole upstairs, had wood floor laid in the hallway upstairs, and had the carpets cleaned. Kent put up new trim and baseboard in the upstairs, minus the kitchen which already had been done. It is up, but needs to have the holes filled in, caulking, and have the paint touched up. But it is pretty close to being done. We painted all of the doors upstairs, but they need to be hung back up. Kent borrowed a spray gun from some friends, and boy did that ever help with all of the doors and closet doors. That would have been misery to do all by hand.
Kent's parents came and helped us for almost a week. We were so grateful! They are such hard workers, and really helped us get so much accomplished. We would have been working for a LONG time without their help. It was so nice to have them here and get to spend time with them. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and have no idea what to do next or where to start. They are great at helping get things started and finished. That was a HUGE blessing for all of us to have them here. Kent was able to take a few days off which was great to have a chunk of time to accomplish things.
We chose a paint color for most of the upstairs that we really like. It is so nice to like the paint once it is done. We have had a few in some houses that we didn't love. My friend next door Stephanie had a nice color that I liked. She let me take some to test on the walls, and it was great. That made choosing the color so much easier, to actually see it on a wall. We are happy with that choice. We painted our living room a gold color. I originally chose a muted gold paint swatch, and we liked it with our brown furniture, and darker living room decor. When I went to home depot to buy the paint, I forgot the swatch, and decided to find something else, because I was not going back once I left. So I chose another one that I thought was close and would work. It is an interesting color- gold. It changes color all day long. My favorite is at about 4pm when it turns to school bus gold. NICE. The furniture has helped to tone it down, but it is definitely gold. I think when it is done, it will be alright. I learned that it is not fun to paint dark colors. I had to do WAY TOO MANY coats of paint to get it to cover evenly. Live and learn, right? I think I had better learn to love it, because we are NOT painting again for a LONG, LONG time. (Except for the trim and touch up's that we still have left)
The kids started school this morning. Reed doesn't start until next week. They seemed happy, and to like their teachers. They both said that they didn't make any friends, and that nobody played with them. (We will have to have the talk about asserting yourself to find friends) I asked Camille if anyone talked to her. She said "Yeah, someone told me to move." Moving is hard. Not just for kids either. I am ready to stay put for a while. I feel like I don't have it in me to start over making friends very many more times. It is hard. Of course I can do it, because I know how and I have to, but I don't like it. Thankfully we have all made great friends every time we have moved, so it is worth it. It just stinks for a while.
Today while we were cleaning out the old house, Morgan cut her hair with the school scissors I bought her Sat. night. That is what you get for giving your child scissors and not paying attention to what they are doing. Reed came in with a hand full of hair and said "look Mom what Morgan did with her scissors." Now that I think about it, I wonder if she had some help with that beautiful new chunk of hair missing in the front. Thankfully I had an appointment for both of us to get haircuts on Wed anyway. I just hope it can be fixed without cutting bangs. I don't like bangs for the girls round little faces. And I don't want to have to fix them. Hopefully it will turn out ok and be fixable.
Well, that is about it, and I am almost done with work for tonight. It has been a really slow night, and I am so glad. It has been a nice break. I think this post sounds a little whiny. We are actually very grateful to have our new home, and realize what a blessing it is. We have also had a lot of help and kindness shown to us these past few weeks that I am very grateful for. We had a lot of friends from our ward come to help with the move, Erin and Kelly have been a huge help as well as our friends/neighbors Ryan, Stephanie and Paula. They have been the BEST neighbors. We are all going to really miss having them next door. The kids already miss playing with Bentley. What would we do without family and friends? We are sure blessed. And grateful for all that we have.

sniff, sniff...sigh...As we pulled in the driveway last night I imagined the kids running up to the car with huge smiles asking if Bentley could play. I glance over at the house and think about the kids all running around having the best time. We are so happy for you but so sad we won't be neighbors (boooo!!!). You have been the best neighbors and friends we could have. Sure going to miss you all but are definitely looking forward to continuing the friendships and getting the kids together. Take care! Love you guys!! I'm gonna go bawl now!!!
We're glad you're in now, and are excited to see pictures of the new paint. It is definitely hard to move, and I hope it doesn't take long for the kids to find friends at school. Friends make life easier!
We had been wondering about you. Thanks for the update. So I didn't quite get it... do you like your paint or not? Is it really truly what you wanted?
We got Jason's b-day package. Everyone loves it. I have had a package return to me too after using that automatic meter. That was really irksome!
Good luck with the rest of the unpacking.

good luck with the move. Looks like a great house. Hope you will love it and all the space you will now have. We need to see you next time we are up that way again.
I am glad you got into your new home. We will have to come for a visit when you get settled a little more. Good Luck with everything!
I think somebody should invent a virtual reality room that you could walk into and sample your paint color "up on the wall" with various kinds of light: daylight, fluorescent, iridescent, etc. They could make a million from homeowners.
Can't wait to see the place!
